MPC-U MICROPROCESSOR INTERLOCKING SYSTEM OF EC POST NO. 1 OF KOZIATYN-1 STATION OF SOUTH-WESTERN RAILWAY HAS BEEN COMMISSIONED FOR CONTINUOUS OPERATION

In May 2021, at EC post No.1 of Koziatyn-1 Station of the South-Western Railway, construction and installation works and commissioning works for the MPC-U microprocessor interlocking system were completed, the system monitors and controls 44 switches, 78 signals, and 67 microprocessor track circuits manufactured by SRPA “Impulse”.

Based on the results of the commission work, a decision was taken to commission the system for continuous operation.

MPC-U is a microprocessor interlocking system carrying out all functions of monitoring and safe control of train traffic at stations and open tracks. It implements route and individual control of field equipment of any kind, remote control of shunting zones and yards, coupling with the upper level’s systems.

Ease of maintenance is assured with the built-in self-testing and diagnosing facilities.

MPC-U has been certified for meeting the highest functional safety requirements - SIL4 level according to the European standard CENELEC (IEC/EN 61508) and level 4 according to the state Ukrainian standard (DSTU 4178).

The reliable power supply system and the defence-in-depth lightning protection assure operation of MPC-U under severe weather conditions and in case of operational disorders of power networks.
