AT POWER UNIT NO. 2 OF ZAPORIZHZHYA NPP A SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE COMPLEX OF CSS

At power unit no. 2 of Zaporizhzhya NPP a software and hardware complex of CSS (control safety system) of the third channel of the control safety system was put into trial operation. The works were performed from 21.08.2010 till 11.09.2010.

Software and hardware complexes of control safety systems are designed to implement functions of protective actions, technological protections, lockings, warning, regulating, and remote control of actuators.

Main benefits of a software and hardware complex of CSS in comparison with the existing analogs:

• increase in reliability by equal quantity of cabinets with the software and hardware complex;
• significant decrease in cable communications by means of an optical interface for data transfer using digital devices by the functions of remote control, indication, and warning in MCR, RCR;
• possibility of channel-by-channel maintenance of the software and hardware complex preserving operability by all functions;
• continuous monitoring of the software and hardware equipment, including testing of channels for discrete signals input.

This system was introduced in close cooperation with the specialists of the shop of thermal automatics and measurements of different areas, specialists of installation and adjustment organizations.
