ACCEPTANCE TESTING OF THE FIRST CHANNEL OF THE ENGINEERED SAFETY FEATURE ACTUATION SYSTEM FOR UNIT 2 OF ZAPORIZHZHYA NPP.

In January 2014, the acceptance testing of the engineered safety feature actuation system for VVER-1000 for Unit 2 of Zaporizhzhya NPP took place at the site of SRPA “Impulse”.

In addition to the specialists of RPA “Impulse”, the specialists of Zaporizhzhya NPP, State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety (Kharkiv Branch), CERTCenter ASU participated in the testing.

Based on the results of the documentation analysis and experimental checks, the acceptance testing committee came to the following conclusions:

• the acceptance testing has been carried out in accordance with the acceptance testing programme;
• the scope of information received during the testing is sufficient to make a conclusion that ESFAS (SS-1) submitted to be tested meets the requirements of the requirements specification, as well as requirements of the nuclear and radiation safety norms, rules, and standards;
• the design, technological, operational, and software documents meet the requirements of the normative documents and are sufficient for their use;
• the acceptance testing results confirm that ESFAS (SS-1) meets the requirements of the requirements specification and is ready to be supplied to Unit 2 of Zaporizhzhya NPP.
