NFMS-IF EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN PUT INTO COMMERCIAL OPERATION AT UNIT 3 OF SS “ZAPORIZHZHYA NPP”

In May 2014, the NFMS-IF equipment was put into commercial operation at Unit 3 of SS “Zaporizhzhya NPP”.

The neutron flux monitoring system (NFMS) is designated for operation in the control and protection system of NPP’s WWER. The system generates signals of exceeding the power and period setpoints, delivers them to the automatic reactor power controller, processes, registers, calculates reactivity, displays information on the operator console, delivers analog and discrete power and period signals to the in-core monitoring system.

The following was performed: precommissioning activities of the first set of the NFMS-IF APZ-SKP (emergency and preliminary protection-reload monitoring system) neutron flux monitoring system according to the “Program of precommissioning activities, autonomous and complex checks of the NFMS-IF APZ-SKP neutron flux monitoring system”, metrological certification of measuring channels of NFMS-IF APZ-SKP. Operating personnel of the operating subdivision of Unit 3 of Zaporizhzhya NPP that is involved in operation of NFMS-IF equipment (the first set of APZ-SKP) was trained.
